10 Miles Is Tiring

Ohmygoodnesses everybodies. I would ask you how you are, but I don't think I have the energies to. Today was my biggest day yet (I know, every other day is my biggest day yet). I had a couple of days off after my big pony riding adventures last week, cos for needing to catch up on my Zzzs. On the first day of napping Cyd came and gave me a massage to make my body feel good. This was also especially for my poor back legs for trying to do the splits on the road when I was being a Bad Pony. I even got some liniment cos I was a bit owie but not lame so it's all good. I also had my hoovies measured. Thanks for coming to hold my rope Aunt-T. Come pony riding with me soon, k?
Pony riding preview
Today Cyd said it was time to pony ride again. She came super early before breakfast time though I don't have breakfast time anymore cos for my net that has food all day. This is good cos it means we can go early and not have to wait for me to eat my foods. I got all brushed up and hooves cleaned and saddle on, k let's go. I walked really super good like a grown up to my trails. Cyd got on my back and off we went. I wanted to do trottings practice but each time Cyd said "No Bugsy, you'll get too tired". She is silly. I'm super strong, so I tried again. "No Bugsy, we're going a long way". Well, we always go a long way. But then I saw what she meant... We did the up up to where we start to go down to the left towards the ditch of doom. But we went right.
Up Up Up
So much up
Right goes up up up even further. Ohmygoodness go muscles go! We stopped for some pictures, and mostly did walking, and a mini bit of snacking. Then there's a bit of down but not steep so it's easy for me. Then the best fun of a little windy trail in the woods and it was so pretty and I had so much fun!
My new favouritist trail
Til the puddle, but I don't want to talk about that cos for you maybe thinking I'm a pansy pony. We'll say Cyd got off and led me cos she wanted a break from pony riding, k? Not cos for me being a wuss and not going by myself.
Terrifying, k?

We might have heard a bear today but we don't know cos for not seeing it or hearing it for surey sure. I was pretty scared and there was something in the trees that was not a deer and we had just seem some super fresh poop (it was steaming). But we made it by just fine. The most rest of my adventure was uneventful. I was even being good enough that when Aunty E called I just ambled along on my loose loose reins while they talked about people stuffs and how awesome I am.
I love pony riding
We popped out somewhere kinda familiar and I realised where I was. If we went left down instead of up right this is where we'd be, we were halfway on my usual loop. No troubles crossing the ditch of doom for going home. I did some trottings practice up the bumpy hill going home cos I thought I had loads of energies left but I used it all up too soon. I didn't get very scared (a little bit) when the peoples came on the quad bike even for them coming fast and a bouncy noisy trailer with them. We only had a mile of trail to go (and some road) but I decided to do stop. I was tired and ready for napping. Cyd said I had to do more walkings cos she can't get off when I'm being bad. Once I did some walking she said I could stop and she got down to lead me the rest of the way.

Pretty :)

I pretty much walked like a gentleman on the road home, not like befores when my mind was temporarily misplaced. Even when a kinda-neighbour pony came flying up the road all excited cos for being a thoroughbred and galloping on the beach. We stopped so the peoples could do talking and I politely waited, but was a bit bad when it was time to leave. The other pony went trot trot away and it was very exciting so I bounced and got in troubles but it didn't take me long to calm down. I got extra snacks when I got home for doing so good at long pony riding. I napped all afternoon, woke up for my dinner bucket, and back to napping. Phew!

Busy Busy Pony

Hello everybodies, how are you? I know you've heard a lot from me this week cos for me being so busy with my learnings. Today I am in Big Troubles. I did really good on my pony ride, just nearly four miles today, all on my lonesome.

I was quite tired from yesterday and the day before that, so we just went to my trails, up a big hill and home again. I didn't even get naughty or excited or prancy-jiggy when we turned around and went exactly home the way we came! (And ssh, I was relaxed enough to do weeing without Cyd getting off me. The strangest things make her pet me...) Cyd rode me the whole way on the squirrelly trail and I did great, and she hopped off at the road to lead me the last little bit. Lucky she got off. I lost my brain!! There were ponies in fields on both sides of me on the road and they were bucking and neighing and being loons and it was all too much. So it wasn't really entirely my fault for being a bit bad, but I was a lot bad and nearly fell down on the road and messied up one of my hoofs cos for scraping it around the road like a skidding thing.

S'ok though cos it doesn't hurt me but my leg is a bit sore from nearly doing the splits with my back legs. Even then I didn't slow down, we had to stay on the side of the road until I put some brain cells back in my head. Every time we tried to go home again I started with the spinning and the rearing and the bucking and the trying to gallop away. Apparently this is called "Over-reacting" and even though those ponies were being silly, they were in their fields, not busy doing their learnings like me. I have to learn to focus. That's Cyd being needy again. She yelled at me and made the people watching me laugh cos she called me mean names cos for being a dummy-face.
But I did really really good at pony riding :)
A bit full of myself
"Stop! I Heard Something!!!"
I did good at pony riding at least, please give me foodstuffs
Today's stats. We did a lot of up for such a little pony ride

New Trails and a New Friend

Hello everybodies, how are you? Today's adventure meant a new type of moving - in a pony trailer. I had before only been in the pony trailer six times, and I have never gone somewhere and come back to the same place in the same day. Uncle F and his pony came to fetch me and Cyd from where my friends live, and his pony came out to let me get in the front. Being the smart brave pony that I am, I hopped in, and then my new friend, Terra, hopped in behind me. Off we went!
Hey I'm in a pony trailer :)
We went driving for a small bit, and when we got out it was really sunny and I was somewhere I've never been before. It was really pretty there, and I didn't get scared when big noisy things called logging trucks came by. Terra is a grown up endurance pony, but she hurt her leg a while ago so is just getting fit again. This means we are well matched for not needing to go fast, and she is a good trainer pony to teach baby ponies. I stood next to her at the trailer while we were getting all our gear and she kept squealing cos for her being a pretty girl and me being a nosy boy, teehee. It's so nice where we were and there are grasses for snacks:
We got led down the road to somewhere called Abalobodiah trail which is kinda dark for being under trees and rustly leaves on the floor and is like a dinosaur trail. We went round a gate and the people got on our backs. Terra took the lead and I followed on behind. We had to step over some little trees on the floor, and after we were warmed up we did some trotting practice, just a short bit. This trail goes up up up and is really quite steep. When it wasn't steep we did uphill trotting to strengthen our butts, and I decided to try a new thing. I did canter by mistake. Cyd says I'm not big enough for canter yet but I did it a couple of times when we did uphill trotting anyways, and did really good. Next up was a trail called Spectacular. There was some muds there with tiny puddles and Terra went across and left me on the other side. I got confused so Cyd hopped off and I was okay following her so we didn't sink. Then she got back on really badly cos for me being tall and no tree stumps but I stood super still anyways cos I'm a good pony! Spectacular goes up up up too and we did walking and trotting (and another little cantering, ssh). Then you can see the oceans, though it didn't come out super good in our picture:
Look at the little middle pampas grass, the blue by it is th'ocean
There was some big grasses on the trail so I felt like a jungle pony:
Uncle F and Terra
On the next trail for going down down down the people got off for some walking. I was super itchy and stopped to rub my face on my knee. I rubbed so hard on my ears that my headstall came off and my bit fell out so Cyd just carried it. I did not walk very politely which got me in troubles, and I was trying to itchy itch all the time cos for making so much sweats. My neck was totally wet cos it was toasty warm on Spectacular trail and big hills and trottings practice and I have fluffy winter fur on. There was a stretch of uphillness and flatness so the people got on to do trottings. There was a tree branch on the floor in my way and I was doing trotting so I did a jump to get over it :) Soon I was wondering when it might be home time cos we'd been going for a long time, then suddenly we were in a field and there was the pony trailer like magic! And grasses snacks, I was so starving. I snacked on trees on the down trail, they were delicious but not easy for the stuffing of the mouth. Grasses are perfect:
Back at the pony trailer, snacking first!
Noms noms noms
I had to go back in the pony trailer again, and took a minute to think about it this time, but decided it was a good plan. This time I got out in the lay-by opposite where my friends live cos for making it easy for Uncle F and Terra to keep driving home. I was quite naughty and got stuck going home but we did my things for unsticking and finally got there. I had to have a mini-bath cos for making so much sweats all over my whole body. I wanted to help but I'm not very good at washing:
"S'ok, I can wash me"
I nearly fell asleep right then, cos for sunshine and snacks in my belly and being cleaned. I totally earned a nap today, right? I did mostly really good and learned new stuff and in new places and new friends!
Soo sleeeepy
My stats for today :) Look how much up I did!

Totally An Endurance Pony Now

Hi everybodies, how are you all? I did most fabulously on today's adventure. Here are my ears:
Abouts half ways, this trail goes up up up

Here are my ears again, on the way home this time, deciding whether we like the new cutting of the slasher pampas grass that tore Cyd's legs up, or not:

Today was my trail ride number three. I did my seven mile loop again, but this time did not have a grown up trail pony to follow. I did awesome, and didn't get stuck and confused (although a little bit on the way home so we got snacks and that made me better). I was a bit more scaredy by myself, like going past where a log had been on fire and smelled funny. And especially when the silly deer jumped from the bushes onto my trail right behind me, I had to go scooting forwards cos in case for it being a mountain lion maybe. I also didn't want to go past the scary puddle which I have not liked every time it's there even though other puddles aren't so scary so I went sidewards past it. I went across the ditch of doom even less worried than before, although Cyd still got off me cos I jump super big. I also jumped a teeny tiny tree, all four feet off the ground at once, cos I forgot how to step over quietly like a grown up even though I've done it loads.
On my way home on the squirrelly trail

I have a new bit now, and it came ages ago in November but I've been in my halter and doing good. Cyd says I should learn to go in a bit too cos for being a well-rounded pony in my learnings (though I'm definitely well-rounded in my belly already!). It's taken a while for us to find one we agree on. The first one I liked but Cyd didn't, then one she liked but I didn't, then one neither of us liked, now this kind. It is called loose ring and on the bars that go in my mouth are some different metal for making it taste different. I wore it for my lunging last week, and before that wore it in my field for the correct strap fittings on my head and thought I was supposed to suck on it like a straw for ponies. But I realised it wasn't and felt pretty silly. Here is what I look like from my back on a pony ride:
My Aunty E made me my special bridle and I love it and she makes all kinds of cool things and I'm super spoiled, but make an excellent model!

My biggest news for today is that I did real trottings. I have done a little baby tiny bit, not even full laps of my circle place (Whew, It's Tiring Being Growed Up). When I have been pony riding with Aunty Z I kinda did a bit of sorta trotting but not really. Today I did it for really reals. A few times actually, and Cyd even did something called posting (unless she is talking to her English pony friends where she does rising trot). I was so awesome at it, and Cyd says I'm super comfty even though I'm just a baby and not super good at trotting yet. Look, this is me doing trottings:

I got ridden nearly all the way home, but Cyd hopped off part way on the squirrelly trail cos I was starting to get a little bit silly. She just didn't know that I really had to go pee. I was much better once I wasn't holding it. I was mostly really good after that except for being really bad going past the ponies that talk to me that are new on my street. I wanted to chat to my friends and Cyd said "no, let's go home." So I did stopping, then I did canter, and then stopping again, and canter again. Which was silly of me cos then we had to practice marching up and down the street concentrating on Cyd not on my friends. She is just so needy! When we get home, we do selfies, but I like to take up more screen cos I'm cuter :)
I thought I did just like an endurance pony cos there was trail and hills and trottings and snacks, but apparently I need to get bigger and smarter and I'll be making more sweats and do my loop plus 43 more miles and then I'll have it. That's a long ways so I guess I'm not an endurance pony yet :( Tomorrow is going to be a big adventure, I'm going to meet a new friend, cos Cyd's friend Uncle F is bringing his pony in a pony trailer and picking me up to go ride in a new place for more exploring for me. I'm so excited!
My stats for today's adventuring :)

I Am Bugsy

And I am a ridingaholic :)

how is every bodies? Today I did pony riding again and I was quite amazing. I went with Aunty Z and a multi- coloured friend and sometimes I was better than my multi-coloured friend like I stood still for the gettings  on, and waited quietly when we were stopped. We nearly started with disaster cos somebodies was shooting a gun and me and my friend were super scared and my friend tried to make Aunty Z fall down but she hanged on real good, and I reared up super high twice (Cyd wasn't on my back yet). There were some childrens watching and now they might be scared. We calmed our brains enough to start walking, and was kinda mostly settled by the trail.
We did the gettings on same as before, same spot for me with Aunty Z making sure we were okay and getting on soon after. Her pony was not all about the standing still. I did do some bad baby things and one time Aunty Z had to come walk with me for a minute cos for a tricky spot with trees and trail bumps and downhill all together and so I just did stop! One time Cyd had to get off and fix my saddle cos it scooted on my withers too much and might need adjusting now I'm growing up. I crossed the ditch of doom no worries with a massive leap even though it was a brand new direction as well as not my usual crossing spot a s Aunty Z said I would be a awesome jumpings pony. We saw cows but they're no biggie.
I had to stop on the really big hill part way cos for puffing so much and again at the top (well where we turn which is nowhere near the top...). I rode all the way home even through the tricky spots where you do mini jumpings and duckings and have to be stealth pony for a bit. I didn't even get very scared when a quad bike came past me.
We were round the corner so couldn't be seen but there was a huge space off the side of the trail and our people heard it coming so hopped off and moved us out the way. My friend got more scared than me, but that's cos I'm brave and me and Cyd gotta protect each other.
I even did some mini trottings today, but only a bit then I had to stop for more breathing. Pony riding is harder than hiking! Not much pictures today but Aunty Z made me a movie star so I can show you when it's all computerized.

Totally Amazing

Hello everybodies and how are you and all that. Now to me. I DID AMAZING! Today was my big day. I was hanging out in my field, and Cyd was measuring my food bag to see what I ate in the night time and re-stuffing it for my belly's delight and cleaning up after me so people can fertilize their plants. I was hanging out by her truck when she called me over and she had my halter, so I zoomed around the barn to be in the right spot. She brushed me and cleaned my hooves and got me ready for pony riding. Then she said it was nearly time and that I should hang out and be patient until we were ready. I was ready so I didn't understand why we were waiting. Meanwhiles I did some napping.
Finally Cyd came and clipped my rope back on me and put her helmet on my saddle and put my reins out of the way. We went out the gate and she let me snack on some grasses which I don't usually get to do. Don't ask questions, just eat. Soon after I heard clip-clop coming up the road and spinned around and there was my Aunty Z riding my ginger friend Rioja. He is a very good pony, that sometimes Cyd borrows to go pony riding cos I'm too little. Aunty Z hopped off, and we set off up the road. I had to show off to my friend how grown up I am, so I prancied and jiggied and got told off for being a pest. We were headed for my trails. All uneventful. I was walking mostly good (though I kept putting Cyd's hair in my mouth and she says that is bad and I get boomped with my rope). Then Cyd and Aunty Z agreed that 'this was a good spot'. For what? Getting on our backs apparently, cos there was a bumpy in the trail to make them taller and us ponies smaller. Mr Rioja was in front of me by now, and Aunty Z stood by me even though I know to stand really good. She waited a bit to get on in case I was confused but I was doing good. It was quite strange but I did really well.
Totally a grown up
We got to the point at the bottom of a big hill where Cyd said we were done last time and took me home. But not today. I was so smart and carried her big butt all the way to the top and even did mini trottings a little bit cos Mr Rioja was walking better than me, but he slowed down so I can keep up. Then in a wider spot I decided to do some bouncing cos I felt really smart and Cyd said we must stop being silly and walk nicely so I did that too.
This is my concentrating face
I did really well all the way to going down some hill which I'm not good at. This bit of hill has a stretch on one side where the ground is all messed up and it's a pony eating cavern-rut in the trail. There's tons of room to go round but I was insistent that we should go that way. I had a bit of a strop and tried to imagine what The Black Stallion would do and did my best impersonations. The peoples just laughed at me and called me adorable and telling me to not fall down (I gotst a bit wobbly). It would seem I'm not a wild stallion after all :(
Wheeee

Next we got to the longer down hill with rocks on the ground, so the peoples got down and led us down the hill, then stayed off cos it was only a short ways to the ditch of doom. I got a bit impatient cos I'm a riding pony now, and twice I pulled Cyd's shoes off her heels even with her half chaps which is apparently 'Very Bad' and I must 'Stay in [my] box!'.
In my box that is invisibles
We got to a big grassy field and they let us eat grass snacks cos I was RAVENOUS! We only stopped for about ten minutes cos apparently it's not okay to roll with a saddle on your back and I kept trying to lie down between mouthfuls. I was making sweats and it was so itchy to my belly! We got to the ditch of doom and I did better than Mr Rioja. I took a big flying leap over the ditch with minimals pausing and he took almost ten minutes of coaxing. I made Aunty Z a bit nervous with the jumping cos she thought I trompled Cyd when I landed but I'm getting really good at this. Once we were all across we went to the mounting tree and Aunty Z failed at getting on the wrong side but me and Cyd did it good and nobody held my head :) I had a pausy bit when Cyd ducked under some branches and pushed some with her hands and that made needles fall on me but Mr Rioja waited until I was calm and off we went again to the next challenge.
I've told you how I like to dance on the bumpy bits of trail, and the hill to go home was FULL of them AND I had to step over a little tree that was even on a bumpy, two challenges in one and I did them awesomely. But by now I was feeling quite full of myself and getting my sassy pants on. I did some more wild stallion impressions cos practice makes perfect and Cyd laughed and told me off for being a bad pony. Aunty Z said something about a 'go-pro' to make me a movie star which I would be great at.
Much thanks to Aunty Z and Mr R for escorting me perfectly
We mostly worked together until I started tantrumming cos for being tired of all this grown-up-ness and starving hungry. Aunty Z came and stood by my face with Mr Rioja and we walked together for a bit so I could finish on a 'good note'.
We got to the end of our lollipop and Cyd hopped off to walk me the rest home cos for some big down hill and I was being good and we didn't want any arguments to finish such a good day. I am just so awesome!
Homeward bound to fooood
Like a real proper big pony! :D See you on the trails....
Sweats make you itchy
My stats, 'cept I only did 6 miles and didn't go that super fast,
Cyd didn't shut off my tracker
No time for halter removal, must eat!
