Checking on my things |
Hellos everybody. How are you? I am getting more amazing by the minute. My new extra paddock and my very own stall to come and go as I please is awesome. Have to be careful not to the leave the top door open to the barn where the hay foods live, cos I learned to reach in and eat from the stack, even when I had a feeder filled with my generous morning ration. Silly me! And now my old hay foods shed is a place to keep all my things, like my saddle and my ropes and my brushes and my booties! Thanks for Uncle J, most especially for our saddle rack which is for Cyd for Christmas.

Uncle J holding me with RtD |
Uncle J got Rocko the Dog today and they joined me and Cyd on our hiking adventure. We tried to find new trails, and tested two, but one found signs "No Trespassing" which I don't know the meaning but Cyd and Uncle J says no ponies or puppies or people can go that way. The other one was really cool and Uncle J used a machete to clear some more space for us to go, but then it got too overgrowed so we went back (up a really steep hill, never follow Cyd exploring!)
I did some trotting on our adventure today, we would let Uncle J and Rocko get ahead then run to catch up. Best funs ever! But I got a bit carried away and tried to play with Rocko like I do in my field when I think nobody sees me, which got me in Big Troubles from both Cyd and especially Uncle J. I am still kinda new to having puppies with me, and mostly Rocko is a great trail dog, scouting out a little ahead of us. When I tried to play, he just lay down in the dirt for being scareded and then I was being yelled at and even boomped a bit with my rope for not listening and moving where Cyd told me. Rocko went scooting back to Uncle J where he was safe and we stayed separate for a bit.

Machete-ing |
I also had a new adventure. When we explored with Aunty Z, we had to turn back cos there was a scary ditch. It took me a long while, and some strong encouragements from Cyd and Uncle J (and tying Rocko to a tree cos he was helping by being IN the ditch at every crossing spot!). It was a very messy crossing and Cyd said she would probably have fallen down if she was on my back, and Uncle J ran away cos I came at lightning speed! Then I got lots of hugs and scratches and happy words (and a checking of my legs cos apparently I'm 'accident-prone' and it got a bit bumpy but don't worry, I'm perfect).

Rocko the Dog |
I also had puppy adventures. We took the shorty-cut route home kinda by the houses cos Uncle J and Rocko were getting tired, and the better way to go is up a big hill and about 1.5 miles longer, but the shorty route is flat (mostly). Not as fun cos runs along the back of houses for a bit, and it seems the puppies are not a fan of trail users. One puppy scared Uncle J and he grabbed his machete to save us cos he thought it was a forest creature (it was lurking like one), but then it came out. We kept walking but once we got past it crossed the fence after us and Cyd yelled really loud to make it go home. We kept going and heard a person yell to us after hearing Cyd in case someone was yelling for help if they were hurted, which was nice. Then we met a guard puppy who did not cross his fence but easily could and was growling and barking super meanly at us, even me. The owner-lady saw, and came running and told off her puppy and tried to grab him which took a while cos he was fast and sneaky. She said sorry for his meanness and wished us happy holidays and off we went again. That will be our only-for-emergencies get-home-fast trail. No more adventures on the way home though :)

Me and RtD and Cyd |
I didn't get stuck today either. Two times I got a bit sticky; one time I had to do my go-backwards thing for unsticking which got me scooting along nicely, and one time Cyd used her 'big strong voice' like Aunty V says she needs to practice, which kept me going when I thought about getting stuck (in the same spot as before). I am awesome!
